Then once you have the update installed recheck the auto update in Firefox. Hope this helps anyone, also this cleared cleared the error regarding the update with the Norton error too. Ran Norton update and opened Firefox then the Norton identity safe toolbar was there and Norton had stopped that annoying download error too, then reset the auto updater. I had this issue too with Norton stating download was safe and would not install, to solve this I disabled auto update in Firefox, then downloaded the latest version of Firefox via IE did an install unchecking the Firefox as default browser, and then installed Firefox v22 Please see my full comments in the next post If you are not prepared to use a secure and up-to-date Firefox you would be better off with an alternative and up-to-date browser. Update Norton if it has a problem with a new version off Firefox. Add-ons that cause stability or security issues are put on a blocklist. ![]()
